The Paley Center
for Media to Honor Sumner Redstone at
Annual Gala in New York

by The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart
New York, NY— The
Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio) will
honor Sumner Redstone, Executive Chairman, Viacom Inc. and CBS Corporation, at
its annual gala in New York.
Redstone is being recognized for his outstanding contributions to the media
industry. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Paley Center’s
ongoing efforts to increase the public’s understanding of the media and its
growing significance in today’s society through various public and industry
programs. Hosted by The Daily Show’s Jon
Stewart, the gala will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at The
Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
“Sumner Redstone’s success speaks to his innovative thinking
and tremendous business acumen, which have been the guiding principles of an
extraordinary career,” said Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of The Paley Center
for Media. “Sumner joined our board of trustees in 1997, and we as an
institution are enormously grateful for his commitment to advancing the mission
of the Paley Center.”
