First Public Screening of the New Television Season

Previews of Some of the Most-Talked-About New Pilots

Before Their Broadcast Premieres

New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA—The Museum of Television & Radio will host the first public screening of the new 2006 television season, offering a preview of some of this year’s most-talked-about new prime-time series, including Ugly Betty (ABC), The Class (CBS), ‘Til Death (FOX), Runaway (The CW), and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC). Each of the five broadcast networks will present their most “buzz-worthy” pilots in their entirety.

MTR: In the Prime kicks off on Friday, August 18, in Los Angeles, with five new shows from the FOX network just before the broadcast premieres scheduled for the end of August. Then after Labor Day, MTR: In the Prime continues in Los Angeles with ABC on Tuesday, September 12; NBC on Wednesday, September 13; CBS on Thursday, September 14; and The CW on September 15.

In New York, MTR: In the Prime begins on Wednesday, September 6, with an encore presentation of the five FOX shows, followed by ABC on Thursday, September 7. MTR: In the Prime continues the following week with NBC on Wednesday, September 13; CBS on Thursday, September 14; and The CW on September 15.

Each preview night will be devoted to a single broadcast network and will include multiple pilot premieres. Screenings are free in both cities with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. In New York, Museum members can make reservations for any of these screenings at 212.621.6780 or e-mail membership@mtr.org. Both cities will host a Fall Preview Party prior to each screening with food, which in Los Angeles is provided by Très LA, and refreshments provided by Aquafina and Hypnotiq in both locations. The Museum of Television & Radio in New York, located at 25 West 52 Street in Manhattan, is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. and until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The Museum of Television & Radio in California, located at 465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, is open Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m. Both Museums are closed on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
