The Paley Center for Media Presents
The
Next 20
A Media Exhibit Designed by Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners
September 24 to December 2, 2007
Exhibit Celebrates Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners’ 20th Anniversary
Opens during AdWeek 2007
New York, NY— The
Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television & Radio) today
announced the opening of a new gallery exhibit: The Next 20
– a unique media-focused exhibit designed by celebrated advertising agency
Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, Inc. in honor of their 20th
anniversary. The gallery exhibit opens on the first day of Advertising Week
2007, the annual industry celebration. This marks the fourth consecutive year
that the Paley Center has joined forces with Advertising Week to host a
multimedia exhibit exploring the world of advertising. Previous exhibits were
mounted by advertising giants Leo Burnett Worldwide and JWT, and Microsoft.
The Next 20, installed in the Paley Center’s Spielberg Gallery, asks the question: “How do you expect brands to communicate with you in the next 20 years?” The question is framed in an introductory video presented by the agency’s founders, Richard Kirshenbaum and Jon Bond, and answered by a range of different voices. In the lead-up to the exhibit KBP invited industry visionaries and the general public to send in their text and video responses to this question. The responses selected—displayed graphically and on video via plasma televisions—come from all over the world, and form the majority of the exhibition’s content. Visit the Paley Center to find out what’s coming up for the industry in The Next 20.
The Paley Center for Media, located at 25 West 52 Street in Manhattan, is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. and until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Entrance to The Next 20 is included with admission. Suggested contribution: Members free; $10.00 for adults; $8.00 for senior citizens and students; and $5.00 for children under fourteen. The public areas in both locations are accessible to wheelchairs, and assisted listening devices are available. Programs are subject to change. For more information, please visit www.paleycenter.org or call 212.621.6800.
###
The Paley Center for Media, with locations in New York and Los Angeles, leads the discussion about the cultural, creative, and social significance of television, radio, and emerging platforms for the professional community and media-interested public. Drawing upon its curatorial expertise, an international collection, and close relationships with the leaders of the media community, the Paley Center examines the intersections between media and society. The general public can access the collection and participate in programs that explore and celebrate the creativity, the innovations, the personalities, and the leaders who are shaping media. Through the global programs of its Media Council and International Council, the Paley Center also serves as a neutral setting where media professionals can engage in discussion and debate about the evolving media landscape. Previously known as The Museum of Television & Radio, the Paley Center was founded in 1975 by William S. Paley, a pioneering innovator in the industry.
